In 2019, a landmark article published in Nature Microbiology (Valles-Colomer et al.) analyzed the microbiota of 1,054 participants from the Flemish Gut Flora Project, cross-referencing it with data on quality of life and depression. Rotating them throughout the week exposes the microbiota to different species instead of always reinforcing the same ones. Microbiota diversity is correlated with mental health: more diverse species, greater psychological resilience.

Diet is a support, not a cure.
